Scholarship holders and compulsory interns

Description

  • Scholarship holders: researchers who are not employed by another institution and come to ETH Zurich for professional development and are unable to obtain part-time employment at ETH Zurich
  • Compulsory interns: practical continuing education and training for students from an institution of applied sciences (not a university) who are not matriculated at ETH Zurich

Purpose

  • Research purpose and/or compulsory internship within the framework of a degree programme outside of ETH Zurich
  • Compulsory internships by students with Swiss or EU/EFTA nationality at ETH Zurich

Requirements

Scholarship holders

  • A degree (at least a bachelor`s degree) from a domestic or international university
  • Not matriculated
  • Financing of the stay via scholarship without top-up by the Department
  • Physical presence

Compulsory interns

  • Matriculation as a student at an institution of applied sciences (not at a university)
  • Visit is associated with the completion of a compulsory internship
  • Physical presence

Work permit

If you create a workflow for a foreign guest in this category, HR administration will automatically handle the work permit.

Family reunification

Upon joint entry, the application for family members is submitted by HR administration. In the case of later entry, the guests must submit the application themselves. Subsequent family reunification is usually more difficult.
